Rejoice! His law is love. His gospel is peace.

There is a line from a song that sticks with me. “You can’t escape the way the world cracks and breaks.”

When I think of where the children of Uzima Children’s Home have come from – addiction, homelessness, despair – it can break my heart. Then, I look at their faces, see their smiles and hear the verses of the Christmas story coming from their lips – and I know.

There is hope. There is peace. In Him.

Yes, the world is broken. But that’s not the whole story.

For unto us a Child is born, to us a Son is given. – Isaiah 9:6a

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to bring good news to the poor, He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor … to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion – to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit. – Isaiah 61:1-3a

May this Christmas be one of rejoicing in what He has done. God is with us.

  1. The world is certainly broken and has been since sin entered it, but we have tremendous hope because of the miraculous birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is easy to see the brokenness of the world because it is all around us. Hope, is a little harder to see, because we have to have faith first. May God bless you and those you serve with abundant faith and eyes to see Him working all around you. Blessings to you and your ministry!
